Shared Space

So, I've been thinking about my scrappy organization. Part of my problem is space. My husband and I share an office/guest bedroom. We each have our own desks (with hutches); but, I am limited in terms of storage space for scrappy items.

I also have a toddler and infant - so I can't let little hands get into my stash.

Scrap Random

I've decided that I will never complete any scrapbooks unless I concentrate on them one at a time. So, for the next couple of months, I have decided to limit myself to LOs for only 3 books/themes: Camp 2001, Quinn's first zoo trip, and Dublin vacation. Once I complete those I will turn my attention back to other books.

I've never scrapped in a timeline order just as inspiration hits me; but, that always leaves me with a bunch of random pages for 20 different scrapbooks but nothing completed.

My Scrappy Resolutions for 2012

1. Update my scrappy blog more frequently. I am going to aim for once a week!
2. Complete at least 20 cards over the course of the year.
3. Complete at least 2 LOs a month.
4. Try 2 new techniques.
5. Organize my supplies better.

Scrappy Space Update

My scrappy space is still in a transitional state. Right now, all of my supplies are packed away in a closet as I await my new desk. I should receive it prior to June; however, the plan is to paint the old office this weekend and rearrange the furniture and my stash shortly thereafter.

Until then, I am on a hiatus.

Maximizing Scrapbooking Space

Since we will be consolidating my scrapbooking space soon, I've really been researching ways to maximize my scrappy space.

The room will now pull quadruple duty as a guest bedroom, an office for 2 people (that means 2 separate desk/computer spaces) and my scrappy space. Not only that; but, with a toddler and a baby on the way, everything has to be kid-friendly.

The one thing I have learned is that vertical space is extremely valuable! I'm trying hard to go UP-ward with storage solutions rather than take over the tight floor space/area. I'm buying a new desk that will be more multi-purpose off craigslist; so, I am trying to spend no more than $50 to give myself more storage space. This is going to mean some bargain shopping and creative solutions!

SewEasy

I am in love with We R Memory Keepers SewEasy products (available for preorder).

Recently, they came out with THREE new types of items that I am really looking forward to adding to my collection:

1. Fancy Floss. The pre-existing 10 cards of floss were great; but, the new flosses include 12 different colors of glitter floss, bakers twine, variegated floss (4 of each type)!

2. Storage Case. Keeps everything in one place :)

3. Large Stitch Piercer(s). Available in vine, hearts, banner, lazy daisy, loop de loop, love, pennants & smocking.
